My name is Sarah Grimsted. I am a New York City–based writer, visual artist, and media student whose work explores the intersection of journalism, art, and storytelling. Through reporting, filmmaking, and visual media, I am interested in creating thoughtful, human-centered stories that deepen understanding and encourage people to see the world from new perspectives. My journalism has focused on politics, mental health, culture, and student life.

Alongside my writing, I create portraiture and mixed-media artwork in chalk pastel, graphite, acrylic paint, and collage. My work is driven by a desire to capture personality, emotion, and the complexity of individual experience, creating pieces that help subjects feel seen while inviting viewers into their stories. I am available for commissioned portraits and collage work, with pricing determined on a per-project basis.
