My name is Sarah Grimsted. I am a New York City-based aspiring journalist and artist with training in reporting and writing, media literacy and ethics, and filmmaking. I believe in the power of a human-centered story to shape a viewer's path and connect them more deeply to the world around them. I aim to offer new perspectives and accurate reporting to combat this era of disinformation and disconnection. My current journalism covers politics, mental health, and student life.

Alongside being a writer, I am also a visual artist. I primarily create portraits and works of art in chalk pastel, graphite, and acrylic paint. I seek to express personality and emotion— letting viewers in on the inner world of the subject and making the subject feel seen through the final project.  I am available for commissioned portrait and collage work; pricing is discussed on a per-project basis.
